Being subjected to more experiences than we can handle, replaying the chemical negatives so many times that it becomes a drug addiction of sorts, making us romanticize even the most gruesome of experiences as learning. We've become so hollow in the name of being tired, that even the most basic of courtesies makes us feel grateful and deep philosophical thoughts run through our scattered minds.
